Some sketch's from the semester

I thought I'd just upload some sketches up from the semester that I liked, I'm gonna upload some later after I finish all my exams this week, wish me luck!




*Oh and ps: Are they gonna kiss? No. He's gonna turn from her in a split second after the captured moment. I'm not that sappy come on! ;)

Social Violations.

This was fun! My dear friend Taylor had a project for her class. I'm still not sure what the guidelines consisted of exactly but it meant that got to have a hands on experience of having people look at you funny and doing it on purpose. Here are some pictures and videos of what we did:

Texting at the bottom of the escalator and blocking peoples way. This woman didn't say anything but the crease in eyebrows was an indication of how she felt about me sitting there in her way.

This is a guy I sat as close to as I could

comfortably while still feeling uncomfortable. The look he's giving me is after I told him my hair was real. Mid conversation I got up and left to check out these cool sunglasses. He was in the middle of talking about his tatoos.

It was interesting to see peoples reactions. For me personally I was a little more gutsy than I would normally be and some of the reactions surprised me. Sure it might be a little awkward to sit next to a random guy, and I looked crazy, but he and I had a good conversation. You get to know people when you put yourself out there. One of the first things I did once we walked all the way in was shake these older men's hands and ask how they were doing. They asked if I needed anything and I said no, I just wanted to say hi. As I walked off he asked why can't there be more friendly people like you? One particular moment I actually felt bad about.. On the escalator a man with a stroller was coming down baby and all. Taylor moved out of the way. She was nice. As for me, I scooted over an inch, leaving enough room to squeeze by, but he didn't want touch me at all so he ran into the side of the escalator... O.o oops... It would have been worth it had it been caught on video or even a photo of it, but our camera guy was trying to set his stuff up so he didn't quite get it and now I'm just left to feel bad :(

So embarrassing, funny, enlightening, all of the above confirms that no matter how people dress or act they're still people. My perspective has been wonderfully enhanced.

Free Caricatures!

So my sketchbook class today went to the mall and one of my class mates put up a sign that said "Free Caricatures!" I went ahead and jumped in there with him and got some practice in for myself:

This was a great idea on my classmates part and I may have to go back and do it again! :)

Sad News

Sad news guys, I didn't make it into the BFA program this semester. I'm not entirely surprised. I have some good stuff, but something has been missing in my work. Not sure what yet, but I have the next year to talk to professors and figure it out and make a new and improved portfolio.

Summer Sketches

Okay, so i haven't posted anything in a while, because I've just been trying to figure out what to do with my life. Reeeaaalll deep. No, not true.. I know what I want to do with my life. I just haven't posted anything for a couple of months, because... i just haven't :/ but, I have something to say now that will change the face of my blog forEVER! I've been limiting myself to keeping this blog strictly for art purposes and now I want to change that. Now this blog is going to be more than just for art, it will also be about me! Finally! My very own blog! I will still post masterpieces of mine, but I will also include a thought every so often when I feel like it.

Thought #1: It is funny to me that I actually take the time to explain this.

Thought#2: I want to put a better back ground up to make the page more interesting.

Thought#3: Writing on a blog is like writing to a wall.. Talking to a wall is still worse than writing to one. Maybe some will disagree. Either way it's not going to write back to me.

Thought#4: Sometimes I'll draw something weird or creepy and people don't like it. They've told me so. Like my mom.. But, I say, shun the nonbeliever! Some times I just gotta do something weird and creepy and let it out of me rather than keep it inside. I do a lot of nice pretty things too though, so don't worry.

Interrupting of Thought#5: Isn't this a clever way to post my summer sketches from my sketch book? Rather than posting a post titled "Summer Sketches" I post.. oh wait.. it is Summer Sketches.. it's just executed beautifully :) **Pats self on the back!

Alright, these are the last two I did for this semester of my illustration 1 class. Once I get the sequencial one done I'll be applying for the BFA (Bachelor of fine arts) for winter semester. Wish me luck!
